The Terms of Sale hereby define the parties’ rights and obligations as concerns the sale of tickets and access to the Roman Theatre. The Terms of Sale hereby are made known to clients through posters at the ticket office, in the Website of the Chorégies d’Orange and in the preliminary programme. Clients declare having taken cognisance hereof and acknowledge accepting the related rights and obligations. Any ordering of tickets shall be deemed by the Chorégies d’Orange as entailing acceptance of the Terms of Sale hereby.

Any person entering the Roman Theatre shall carry a ticket, irrespective of age. Tickets may take several shapes: - MATERIALISED TICKETS: Such tickets are printed in two parts and carry a bar code. Tickets shall be presented together with their control coupon at the entrance to the Roman Theatre (except in cases where performances are postponed). In case of lost or stolen tickets, requests for duplicates are possible only at the ticket office of the Chorégies d’Orange on the date of the performance on production of clients’ identity cards. - E-TICKETS: E-tickets take the shape of either a mobile ticket (M-ticket) that you download to your smartphone, or of an electronic file in PDF format displaying a bar code. Clients shall prior to choosing e-tickets ensure that they have available equipment allowing them to print the downloaded PDF file, which shall be printed on blank A4-size paper on both sides. Tickets shall be printed entirely and correctly to allow easy reading of the data relevant to the purchase (number, title, date, price, venue and bar code for control). Ill-printed or damaged tickets shall not be accepted. Entering several times using the same ticket is impossible. The first person appearing at the controls with the e-ticket shall be deemed the legitimate holder of the ticket and shall be the only person admitted to attend the performance. It is therefore recommended to take all precautions to preserve tickets. The organisers are not required to check the identity of persons presenting e-tickets. IN BOTH CASES purchasers shall when issued tickets check the name, date and time of the performance as well as the indicated price. No complaints shall be admitted once tickets have been issued or printed. Proof of identity or of entitlement to special prices will be requested for the sale or the collection of tickets or at the entrance to the venue. The full price shall apply failing presentation of entitlement to special prices. Tickets in whatever shape are to be kept, and presented upon request, as long as clients are present at the venue of the performance. Delivered tickets shall not be taken back, reimbursed or exchanged. They are valid for the performance for which they have been issued only.

The Chorégies d’Orange accept no responsibility for any purchases of tickets outside approved points of sale and shall not be held accountable by such sales in any way. Clients are responsible for checking the validity of points of sale. Reselling tickets at prices greater than the price given on the tickets is strictly forbidden.

Doors are closed fifteen minutes prior to the start of performances. It is advisable to take one’s seat at least thirty minutes prior to the start of the performance. Access to numbered seats ceases to be guaranteed five minutes prior to the start of the performance. Latecomers can find their seats during the interval. Spectators having full cognisance of the time of the performance and of the access conditions to the theatre, the Chorégies d’Orange shall not be held responsible for spectators’ lateness. Access to the theatre is not guaranteed once the performance has started and no reimbursement or compensation of any kind is made. The Chorégies d’Orange reserve the right to make audiovisual recordings of all of their performances, possibly entailing changes to the seating indicated on tickets. In case performances are overtitled, the overtitling is liable to be difficultly legible from third-series seats. Spectators are advised that the Roman Theatre is an ancient monument that is fitted neither with modern equipment for ease of access nor with modern seating (excepted the Golden Corner, which is provided with cushions). Spectators are thus allowed to use their own cushions (not more than 30 cm wide). No refunding or compensation for ill-comfort of any kind shall be granted. Spectators who leave the venue shall not be readmitted (even during intervals).

Spectators shall be held legally or criminally responsible for any direct or consequential damages they may cause during their presence within the Roman Theatre.

Spectators expressly undertake to submit to any checks and controls carried out with a view to ensuring the safety of goods and persons within the Roman Theatre. Searches may accordingly be carried out at the entrance control points and spectators are expected to lend themselves to such controls.

Postponed performances In case of bad weather or of force majeure, any performances that have not started or that have to be interrupted prior to the end of the first part of the performance shall be postponed to the following day, tickets thereto remaining valid without formalities. Tickets are refunded for any postponed performances that, due again to bad weather or to force majeure, are prevented from starting or that should be interrupted prior to the end of the first part of the performance. Tickets are not refunded for any performances interrupted later than the first part of the performance. No refunds shall be granted for postponed performance spectators are unable to attend.
